Steve Hunt appointed to the Howard County Spending Affordability Advisory Committee
Hunt to serve for the fourth consecutive year

North Laurel, MD – Steve Hunt has been appointed to the Spending Affordability Advisory Committee (SAAC) by Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman. This will be Hunt’s fourth consecutive year serving the County as a member of the SAAC.

“I am pleased and excited to once again serve Howard County as a member of the SAAC,” said Hunt. “I’m especially honored to that this important appointment comes as a result of the direct recommendation of my friend and District 3 Councilwoman Jen Terrasa, who continues to put her faith, trust and confidence in me to represent the interest of District 3.”

“I look forward to working with SAAC Chair Steven Sachs, as well as the amazing, dedicated men and women that make up the SAAC, to assess our County’s current financial situation, and to provide sound advice to the County Executive, County Council and Howard County for the upcoming fiscal year and beyond.”

The SAAC, established each year by County Executive Order, is charged with reviewing in detail the status and projection of revenues and expenditures for fiscal years 2019-2024; evaluating future county revenue levels and consider the impact of certain economic indicators; and evaluating expenditure levels with consideration of the long-term obligations facing the County, and the best way to pay for them. The SAAC consists of Howard County citizens and representative of major organizations. More information about the SAAC and its work can be found here.

Steve Hunt is a candidate for the Howard County Council, District 3. In addition to his membership on the SAAC, Hunt is a member of the Development Regulation Assessment Steering Committee, and the current Chair of the Howard County Board of Appeals. Hunt lives in North Laurel with his wife, Meg, and two children.
